The percentage of rail transport in total inland freight transport in Lithuania decreased to 62.5 percent since the previous year. In 2021, the percentage of rail transport thereby reached its lowest value in recent years.

According to Eurostat, rail freight is any goods moved by rail vehicles. This includes all packaging and equipment, such as intermodal transport units (ITU) and pallets as well as road goods vehicles carried by rail.
